Jakarta, Oct 16 (DPA) A magnitude-6.1 earthquake rocked Indonesia’s Sulawesi island Friday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The quake struck at 2.33 am (1833 GMT Thursday) at a depth 10 km, the USGS said. Its epicentre was located 216 km northeast of Baubau town in South East Sulawesi province, the USGS said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
A magnitude-7.6 earthquake struck Indonesia’s West Sumatra province Sep 30, leaving 1,117 people dead and more than 100,000 buildings severely damaged or destroyed.
