Stockholm, Feb 1 (IANS) Sweden would not be bound to the eurozone although it has agreed to join EU fiscal pact, said Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.
“It is the condition Sweden made when it is going join the EU fiscal pact,” Reinfeldt was quoted by the Swedish Television SVT as saying Tuesday.
The prime minister pointed out that Sweden will not join the eurozone unless Swedish people would have another referendum and say yes to it, adding that Sweden will not be involved in the euro cooperation issues, reported Xinhua.
“The European economic crisis has showed that our neighbours’ problem is also our problem. It’s about how to see to taking part in it and making an impact on it,” said Reinfeldt.
He added that the budget framework is very important and the EU fiscal pact is a way to strengthen the relationships between the countries, not just those in the eurozone.
