London, Sep 30 (IANS) A woman teacher in Britain has been detained under the Mental Health Act for having a lesbian relationship with a teenaged pupil.
At an earlier hearing at the Ipswich crown court, Suzanne Harrison, 38, admitted four sex offences while in a position of trust involving the 15-year-old girl over a seven-month period, the Daily Mail reported.
The offences had been committed when Harrison used to work at a school in Colchester town of Essex county.
Prosecutor Godfried Duah told the court that Harrison had swapped telephone numbers at the girl’s 15th birthday party.
He added: ‘Their friendship developed very quickly after this…Miss Harrison was very often at the victim’s home address and sometimes would have meals and barbecues with her family.’
The relationship was exposed when the victim’s sister once discovered Harrison in the family home after she fell asleep following a sexual encounter with the child.
