Los Angeles, July 7 (IANS) Director M. Night Shyamalan is planning a darker sequel to his new movie ‘The Last Airbender’.

The director of ‘The Sixth Sense’ confirms he has mapped out the second part and hinted that the less important characters of Azula and Kyoshi Worriers in the first film would be more prominent in the second movie.

‘I’ve written a draft which is darker and richer than the first part and I’m really happy with it,’ aceshowbiz.com quoted him as saying.

‘And it has a wonderful antagonist in Azula, who’s our only real, pure antagonist in the series. So, I’m excited about that,’ he added.

Shyamalan also revealed that the young female Kyoshi Warriors, whose scenes did not make it to the final cut of the first part due to editing decisions, will play a larger role in the second part.

‘I probably won’t show the Kyoshi Warriors as I want to save them for the second movie, because I’m going to have to introduce them all over again,’ he added.

‘We shot them (Kyoshi Warriors) and they were amazing. We spent an unbelievable amount of time choreographing them. And they just distracted from the movie, because the movie wasn’t about them,’ he added.
