Kuala Lumpur, June 7 (IANS) A car crashed into a toll plaza and then burst into flames, killing three people inside it in Malaysia’s Penang state Monday, police said.
The accident took place at about 2.15 a.m. local time at the Sungai Dua toll plaza in the north-south expressway.
There were two men in the front seats and a woman in the rear, who were burnt to death, police said, adding that the fire lasted for nearly 20 minutes.
The cause of the accident was not yet known.
The north-south expressway is the longest highway in Malaysia with a length of 966 km.
