Baghdad, Oct 20 (IANS) Eleven people were killed and 50 others wounded in two successive roadside bombings in Baghdad Saturday afternoon, reported Xinhua citing an interior ministry source.

The blasts happened in Baghdad’s north district of Kadhimiya, a major Shia neighbourhood in the capital and caused casualties, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Security forces rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area as ambulances carried the victims to the nearby hospitals. The death toll could further rise as many of the wounded were in serious conditions, the source added.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but Sunni insurgents are mostly to blame for attacks against Shia Muslims.
Earlier in the day, unidentified gunmen shot dead three government employees in Baghdad and Ramadi, the capital city of the restive Anbar province.
