Abu Dhabi, June 2 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirate’s Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort (AWPR) has got two new members in a pair of caracals from Yemen.
The pair was donated by a family in Yemen to ensure proper care for the animals.
‘These are feisty cats. The family wanted to ensure the animals were provided with the best possible shelter and care,’ said Farshid Merhdadfar, AWPR’s animal collection manager.
The AWPR’s family of arid land carnivores are perhaps the last lot of the medium-sized cat species in the UAE. The black-eared cats are mostly found in Africa and parts of Asia.
